chart-scatter-3d4.4 Progress Transform Helper

In this step, we will show you how to move objects along one or more axes using the Progress Transform Helper. This Progress Transform Helper works in conjunction with the Turnable.

This means, for example, if a screw is turned out by 360 degrees, another object will be moved over the entire rotation using the Progress Transform Helper.

Add a "Progress Transform Helper" to the scene using the Tool Spawner.

This Actor is comparable to the previously discussed Axis Mover. However, the Axis Mover only works with Lever (Turnable), whereas the Progress Transform Helper only works with Turnable objects.

Position the Progress Transform Helper so that it is next to the screw. Rotate it so that the red axis is facing you.

In the next step, we need to assign an object to the Transform Helper that will be moved. To do this, go to the Mesh folder and select the object named "SM_Battery_Frame". Position it as shown in the example.

Now set the 3D model to "Moveable" in the Details panel!

In the next step, left-click on the 3D model and select the option "Attached to". Use the eyedropper tool to select the Progress Transform Helper.

Now select the Progress Helper and take a look at the Outliner. If everything worked correctly, the 3D object should now be a child of the Progress Helper.

In the next step, we will define how far we want to move the object. To do this, select the Progress Helper and look at the Details panel. Under "Target Location", enter the following values.

In the final step, select the previously created Turnable and go to the Details panel. Click the plus icon next to "Progress Helper" and use the eyedropper tool to select the Progress Transform Helper.

The end result should look as follows:

Since the Progress Transform Helper only works in combination with a Turnable, we do not need to create a new task for this.

The function is simply triggered by rotating the Turnable.

Now try it out in VR.
